Murphy was my first dog. I purchased Murphy
from an ad in the Akron Beacon Journal. Neither of her parents were OFA
certified, but at the time I didn't know what that meant I just wanted
a puppy, and her litter was ready to go home at the perfect time for me.
It is amazing I bought another Brittany after "surviving" Murphy's
puppyhood. She was hyper to say the least, but I loved her for it. It
wasn't long before we learned that Murphy was severely dysplastic. Her
hips were so bad that we had no other choice but to do surgery to help
her live a healthier happier life. We endured many years of medication
and treatments to keep her comfortable. In her last couple months she
was diagnosed with Cushings Disease on top of her other problems. We had
to make the tough decision to ease Murphy's pain on March 25, 2004. It
was time to set her free of her many health problems. There isn't a day
that goes by that I don't think of Murphy.
